Message from Hong Choy
No doubt, he is one of the most influential person in my life. I regret, I didn't pay enough respect to him when he was still around. What can I do??? I hope he would be proud of me if I did well, and I hope he is still.

POWERFUL !!!
People tend to ask this question nowadays as we move into our 50th year since independence: What is Malaysian culture? How and when will we get to have our own culture?
The word "culture" here means "a whole set of unified culture that ONLY belongs to Malaysian".
I find this question a little funny.
First of all, I do not see a point of "finding" or "designing" a set of our very own culture, because culture is not meant to be "made" but developed.
I hate to say this, but there IS a Malaysian culture, but our culture is only 50 years old, or less, if you consider Eastern Malaysia as well. What can 50 years do to culture?
We might want to compare ourselves with Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and other South East Asian countries that have such a rich tradition and culture. But don't we ever forget that they always retained the same culture, and those countries have always been there. Whereas Malaysia only existed since less than 50 years ago, the whole system we have just started to run since then.
Culture takes time and culture grows and develops like a little grass that grows under a wall. It struggles to see the sunlight, and it avoids the stones beside it, and yet never give up to see the sun. When it finally sees the sun, take a look at it's shape. It might not be your regular grass, but it's a grass, with a special shape.
That's what culture is like to me. We say our political issues and social problems would be the obstacle of developing our culture, I do not see it that way. I say culture is a natural development based on/ according to its social and political background.
If we try to designate our culture, that's a big mistake as a first step, and that might cause more problems in the future.
What we need to do is to stimulate our younsters to get interested in cultural affairs rather than teaching them what is our culture. For they and their offsprings are the ones that will determine what is our culture.

Sexy Cantonese
I’ve never met her. I didn’t like her when in the beginning because of her ignorance after Chern Hwei introduced us to each other. I was like... whatever... performance students are mostly haughty if they don’t know you or if they think you are not good. So, whateveeeer!
Surprisingly, we still keep in touch and get to know each other more. She is actually a happy person, such a likable, extremely amusing chick!
Check out her video (chinese)... Hilarious!!!
CY in Berlin 1
CY in Berlin 2
CY in Berlin 3
She loves cooking and always shows off her food. She got a crazy admirer who always gives her hell.
My secret weapon - Don’t love me, I’m a troublemaker. It will sure work.
I call her sexy cantonese coz her accent is just irresistibly seducing.
(sincerely from the bottom of my pencil box)
She sent me her music today. As what I expected, her playing is awfully good. Then I read more about her, damn!! The only american in top 10 of some international harp competition 2005... and is a candidate of the Fulbright program (wow!!!) in Germany. No wonder she is in Berlin now.
I decided to write about her here. I haven’t even written much about my peeps nor my parents!! You gotta carry your delighted smile to see me in NY... only if I write well for my premier. (anxious...)
Hey any cool dude looking for a chick, this is a decent one!!! But you better be cool, really cool like napoleon (Dork!!!)... coz she is 三戀八花!!! Ask me the meaning if you’re interested. O ya, she is a Taiwanese living in the States since high school, a bit (LOT) narcissistic. She loves certain angles, loves candy and her mom loves pork.
Service fee will be applied for contact inquiry. Convenience fee is ...
LOL!!!

Happy Day... Hilarious Stories
1.From a sought-after studio musician in hollywood, “I once caught my son masturbating and warned him that he could get blind if he keeps doing this.
‘Dad, I’m over here...’, The son waved his hand and said”
2.Heart’s latest fairy tale about getting her first wedding ring - http://raisinggirls.spaces.live.com/
3.Mom kept nagging her not to eat candy... teeth will drop out soon. All in Taiwanese slang.
Girl: ...gotta eat as much as I can before my teeth drop out. If I don’t eat now, and I STILL ain’t eating when my teeth are all gone... Better eat when I can still eat.
MOM: @#*&%$#&*
seems like rough words... maybe not.
Girl: It’s true right? People said it’s bad to eat pork. Now I ask you, what do you like to eat the most?
MOM: Ngua (Your mom) like to eat pork the most.
Girl: Why are you still eating if you know it’s bad?
MOM: RIGHT!!! Eat till die is better than dying from hunger.
Girl: RIGHT!!! Who am I?
MOM: You are my gurl, dear!
Girl: So, I learned it from you *$&%@#*$*
seems like rough words again
MOM: #*$&*#()%&$)*(&$#^
I’m sure those are rough words!!
4.I watched The Ugly Betty... A jerk dressed up like Betty on Halloween in the show. Damn mean!!!
5.I brought a chopstick to a recording session in my 1st quarter here, and left the baton on the dinning table. This afternoon, I saw that chopstick in a stack of old scores.
6.Listening to Beautiful South’s “Song for Whoever”
I love your from the bottom of my pencil case
I love the way you never ask me why
I love to write about each wrinkle on your face
And I love you till my fountain pen runs dry

The Best Blog I've Ever Visited
Check out some touching stories at
http://raisinggirls.spaces.live.com/blog/
I got some tears to shed when I read the latest post, then my heart got sweeten by a very touching story in the 2nd posting... and I kept reading until 5:30AM!!!!
This blog is listed at about shoehorn page too, under Shoehorn’s friends.
She didn’t teach enough, and I didn’t learn as much as I wanted to. But, as what I said in the description - She has enormous impact on me, the huge encouragement that brought me here, that opened my eyes to a brighter future... and all the reasons I ended up in this dreamland, chasing a dream that I had never thought of.
PS: I have another picture at home... even more charming. kekeke.
I gotta forward it to TED. They probably didn’t know each other that time.

Who is Martha?
Martha was my UPM lectrer, composition supervisor. She is the most influenced "aunty" in my life. As far she still is.
A typical sagittarius like me, but upgraded generation, like the Sonny, a Nestor Class-5 robot in Will Smith's I, Robot. I'm just a house cleaning machine laaa.
Chinese saying - Worm in my stomach. She knows what I think, both good and BAD stuff, and always throw a word that make me stoned... this kinda face this kinda face
-_-|||
My work is always kindergarten painting infront of her. Without her, I think I wouldn't be chasing my dream in here.
One thing about her, she WAS a perfect beauty in early this century. That kinda girl-next-door look is always pretty. HAHAHA
You guys don't believe me?? Give me some time, I'll find out the photo I took with her in 1998 and post it here. Maybe it's in Kajang.
Hope to see her in music field again, when the right time comes, as a composer, a musician or an educator. She is just too good to not be a big name in this industry.

A must to listen!!!
Butterfly Lovers Concerto for Violin And Orchestra 梁祝协奏曲, Soloist - Fung Chern Hwei
Click here for the audio clip
Click here for the audio clip
Dude, I am really proud of you... from the bottom of my "Rodney"
You jerk keep complaining how awful it was. There are some mistakes... but overall is terrific! Anyway, It wasn't your fault... It was that stupid Old Dog conductor. If you tell me you wanna give up playing classical. I will find Heineken bottle to poke your ASS when you come here in May. and go sleep somewhere else.
Also, please talk about this perfomance in your blog. Let people give you some comments.
Dude, Keep it up. Don't let any cocky "yoda" take over you.
Fung Chern Hwei, my bro... (but sorry dude, no panties sharing). A violin nut, 110% kinky fella. My 2-year junior in UPM, Malaysia. Currently hanging out with his own kind in Queens college, City University NY (haha especially this happening final quarter, screwed up few cocky yodas including his hated professor... Ken gives you full respect!). Pursuing master degree in Violin performance. Having the level of potential that he himself might not understand. High profile including PMF, HMI, AYO, Malaysia National SO, apprentice of Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra. Also a devotee of jazz. Picking up baroque violin recent years....
... Shit I'm like doing the same thing I did in Encore Music, trying to promote you.
Chern Hwei's Blog http://violinuts.blogspot.com/
Go support him. He is pissed that nobody leave him comment in his blog. Go BOOM his blog!
His other sites that I know
